Giro is a ferris wheel table lamp built in off-white metal — a finely spoked wheel carrying twenty frosted globes, pinned at the hub in polished chrome and held between two slim uprights on a low rectangular base. The spokes are thin enough to almost disappear against a wall, so what you see is the ring of globe lights and the soft shadow it draws behind it.

Switched on, the twenty globes read as one continuous circle of warm light. It is the glow that makes a room feel finished — soft, even and easy on the eye — whether it sits on a bedside table, along a hallway console, on a nursery shelf or above a desk. Getting started

Giro arrives in two parts and goes together in a couple of minutes. Stand the base on a flat surface, seat the wheel between the two uprights and hand-tighten the fixings at the hub — no tools beyond what is in the box. Plug it in and the in-line switch does the rest. Dust the spokes and globes with a dry soft brush or a microfibre cloth, and lift the lamp by its base when you move it.
